I crocheted this little rose ring for Liz today. I told her it was the kind that fairies wear and she loves it. In case you want to make one, I've written out a pattern. It barely qualifies as a pattern because it's so easy. This is meant to fit a child's finger. If you want it larger just add a couple more chains at the beginning. The yarn will stretch so don't make it too big.
I used a 2.75mm hook and some scraps of light weight yarn that I had around.
With green yarn, Ch 8, sl st in first ch.
sc in loop 15 times
sl st in first sc
fasten off and work in loose ends.
This makes the ring.
To make the rose,
using red yarn (or any color) ch 20
2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in each of the remaining chains,
fasten off and leave a long tail to attach the rose to the ring.
The rose should be just a spiralling cord right now. Twist it into a rose shape with the tail portion on the outside and the other end at the center of the rose. Sew it onto the ring with the long tail. Be sure to attach the center of the rose firmly to keep the flower's shape and pass through the "petals" in a few other places to keep your rose tightly bunched together.
I might try this again with a few sparkly beads worked into the yarn.
